15 Minutes

I’ve created a podcast, and, subsequently, a project called 15 Minutes. It’s based on Andy Warhol’s famous quip.

15 Minutes will be a series of podcasts devoted to interviewing students in fifteen minutes; allowing them to tell their unique story or a story that will help others understand who they are – the unseen portion.

The first podcast can be heard here. It’s the first of a three-part interview with an Albanian-American student who emigrated to America and escaped the Bosnian War of the 1990s. It’s a story of courage and bravery, and heartache. He offers some insights into the education he recieved as a Albanian child living under Serbian rule.

My hope is to interview ten more students before the end of the year. My dream is for 15 Minutes to become a school-wide project; teachers and students podcasting together, learning about the lives of students… their stories that make them so unique. It’s an opportunity to make all of us a little more aware of our humanness.
